Achilles tendinopathy

Achilles tendinopathy is a condition that occurs when the Achilles tendon is overstressed or overused. This can lead to small tears in the tendon, causing pain, swelling, and stiffness. The condition is more common in athletes, particularly those who participate in sports that involve jumping and running.

Common symptoms are pain and stiffness in the back of the heel and ankle, swelling and tenderness around the affected area, difficulty moving the ankle and foot, and weakness in the affected leg.
