Osgood-Schlatter's disease

Osgood-Schlatter's disease (knee pain) is the painful inflammation of the patellar ligament at its connecting point to the long bone of the lower leg, the tibia. It is most common in children who play sports that have frequent running and jumping, and between the ages of 9 and 16.

Severe cases of Osgood-Schaller's disease can involve a fracture at the tibial tuberosity. Depending on the type of fracture, this may require surgical intervention.

For the majority of cases, treatment of this condition involves, rest, stretch and strengthen regimes, taping and pain relief.
